The Raydean Acevedo Colorado Ballet Academy

Welcome!

The Raydean Acevedo Colorado Ballet Academy Welcomes You.

In the spring of 2018, the Colorado Ballet Academy (CBA) was named after long-time trustee, Raydean Acevedo. Raydean serves as the co-chair of the Academy Committee for the Colorado Ballet Board of Trustees, and the impact of her commitment, passion and generosity cannot be overstated. We are proud to have such a tremendous friend and advocate in Raydean. Naming the Academy after her was a small way to honor her extraordinary contributions to Colorado Ballet.

The 2019/2020 Academy year promises to be an excellent one to showcase our students with the return of Saturday Soirees, Fall Feature and various free First Friday events that coincide with the Art District on Santa Fe’s First Friday Art Walks. Our season culminates with a full-length Academy production at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House for students in Levels 1 through Pre-Professional Division on May 23, 2020. Please consult our calendar on the website for important dates. More information will be provided as we get closer to each event.

Colorado Ballet is excited to start the year with you. Whether you are new to CBA, or one of our returning families, we welcome you!

Sincerely,
The Colorado Ballet Academy Team

Erica Fischbach, Academy Director
Domenico Luciano, Academy Principal
Kathi Crum, Lower School Coordinator
Elisabeth Link, Academy Business Manager
Megan Lay, Academy Administrator

Follow Don Quixote and Sancho Panza as they search for a noble adventure, which leads to a band of gypsies, dreams of Dryads and a surprising turn of events. Don Quixote remains one of today’s most frequently performed romantic works with classical choreography by Marius Petipa, along with stunning Spanish sets and costumes.

Please be courteous during pick-up/drop-off and do not idle in the lot for longer than a couple minutes. We recommend you park on neighboring streets (Santa Fe or Kalamath) and walk in with your dancer to avoid the congestion during busy times.

NDEO/NHSDA

Colorado Ballet Academy has been a chapter sponsor of National Honor Society for Dance Arts since 2015. The National Honor Society for Dance Arts™ (NHSDA) program of the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) was created to recognize outstanding artistic merit, leadership and academic achievement in students studying dance. Colorado Ballet Academy sponsors NHSDA for two levels of induction: The Junior Program for grades 6-8, The Secondary Program for grades 9-12. Colorado Ballet Academy is proud to honor our students and help advance the field of dance education.

A kick-off meeting will be scheduled for September. Check the bulletin board and newsletter for announcements. Interested students and families are welcome anytime as NHSDA is an ongoing activity.
