Dear KCBS Parents and Students,
We look forward to seeing you for Watch Week Feb. 25 – March 2. We are happy to welcome supportive parents, siblings, grandparents and other special guests into your child’s class to observe the progress he or she has made since fall. Please remember to be respectful of the students, teachers and classroom environment by turning your cell phone off and observing quietly. Photography and videography are not allowed at this or any other school event. It is common for some children, especially the younger ones, to become hesitant to participate when there is in an audience in the room. Teachers are understanding and will encourage these students to watch with their parents and join the class when they are ready. Older students are usually excited to have an audience and are anxious to show off what they’ve accomplished since you were here in October. We hope you enjoy the class!
During Watch Week, information will be available in the lobbies of each campus about Summer Programs, the Kansas City Youth Ballet’s Spring Concert, and the end of year School Showcase and School Performances in May. We invite you to stop by the tables to gather information, ask any questions and register for summer classes.
A few reminders about upcoming breaks; KCBS will be completely closed on Feb. 18 in observance of Presidents' Day, for Spring Break March 18 – 24 and for Easter Break March 29 – 31.
Sincerely,
Emily Simpson
School Director
