Summer Intensives

We loved seeing so many Academy students at our auditions last month, and we hope to have opportunity to work with many of you this summer! Our nationally recognized six-week programs provide intensive training designed to cultivate individual potential.

Summer is an opportunity to train more intensively with our beloved resident faculty while also broadening your horizons with exposure to renowned guest instructors. If Cincinnati Ballet is your program of choice for Summer 2019, we encourage you to register early, as we sell out every year.

Kids Dance Camp

Cincinnati Ballet takes you on a tour of our favorite tales during Storybook Summer 2019. Over three week-long adventures, Kids Dance Camp will immerse young dancers ages 4-8 in the beloved worlds of The Sleeping Beauty (June 3-7), Alice in Wonderland (June 10-14), and Snow White (July 29-August 2).

With music and imagination, we’ll flip through enchanted forests and fairy charms, tea parties and magic mirrors, one chapter at a time. A special pre-sale for current Academy families will begin this week, announced via email!

Youth Summer Intensive

Cincinnati Ballet’s Youth Summer Intensive is designed to serve as an introduction to intensive summer training in a nurturing environment for young dancers. Youth Summer Intensive will take place June 17 - 28 and July 8 - 19.

Summer placement letters were emailed to all students in Main Division Levels 1 – 3 Advanced last week, and a special pre-sale for current Academy families will begin on February 6. Registration links will be sent via email, so keep an eye on your inbox!

Summer Bridge Program

The Summer Bridge Program aims to keep students in peak physical condition between summer and school year training, with sessions offered at the beginning and end of the summer.

NEW in 2019: we’re excited to debut a special bridge program for students who will be placed to enter Main Division Level 1 in Fall 2019, designed to help students navigate this transition as they take a step forward in their ballet training.

Stay tuned for dates and registration links coming soon!

Parent Observation

The week of February 18-24, we invite Academy parents and guardians into the studio classroom to observe class and witness your students’ hard work and progress. We kindly ask that you limit the number of observers to 2 people per student to allow for comfortable seating for all. A few other reminders:

- Parents may come and go as needed. When entering the studio, please wait until the current exercise is completed and the music has stopped.

- No electronic devices may be brought into the studio. If you need to use your cell phone, please step into the hallway.

- For the protection of all students, absolutely no photography or videography is allowed during class.

Note: Families of students with classes in Studio D (where seating space is limited) will receive an email later this week to select between two weeks for class observation.
