The warm sounds of the holidays fill Boettcher Concert Hall in this annual Christmas spectacular. This season's celebration focuses on the music and magic of the season, showcasing the Colorado Symphony's annual collaboration with the Colorado Children's Chorale and the Colorado Symphony Chorus. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to see who's naughty and who's nice in preparation for the big night. Don't forget to arrive early for HalfNotes pre-concert activities in Gallery 2!

The sounds of the holidays fill the air with traditional favorites and festive collaborations with your Colorado Symphony!


The season begins with A Colorado Christmas; the Colorado Symphony's annual collaboration with the Colorado Children's Chorale and the Colorado Symphony Chorus. The Colorado Symphony Chorus is also featured during Handel's Messiah and Symphony at the Movies: Home Alone. If the holiday season makes you feel like singing, you are invited to sing with the Chorus at the Handel's Messiah Sing-Along!
You won't want to miss holiday spotlight favorite, Jackie Evancho as she returns to Boettcher Concert Hall to sing your favorite holiday hits and more. The Colorado Symphony is also excited to present its fourth annual Holiday Brass with two performances at Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church. The season is rounded out with the annual celebration of festive waltzes and polkas at A Night in Vienna, the perfect way to close the holiday season and ring in a bright new year!

The annual winter tribute to Ludwig van Beethoven opens with the little-played overture to the 1801 ballet, The Creatures of Prometheus. Beethoven's Classical roots are at the heart of his Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major performed by pianist Andrew Staupe, who cemented his status as one of the country's top young pianists with a critically acclaimed Carnegie Hall debut in 2012. Beethoven's famed Symphony No. 3, most commonly known as "Eroica," was groundbreaking for its musical range when it premiered in the early 19th century. Audience-favorite Rossen Milanov returns to conduct this exciting program.

JACKIE EVANCHO SINGS HOLIDAY HITS & MORE

At just 10 years old, Jackie Evancho first appeared on “America’s Got Talent” in 2010 singing soprano pieces that won her second place overall in the contest. From there, she started performing around the world. Now at 15 years old, Evancho released her third standalone album called “Awakening”. For her performance with the Colorado Symphony, Evancho will perform some of the most memorable classics of the season as well as other unique pieces sure to make for a festive concert. Evancho has gained acclaim for her holiday concerts, including participating in the lighting of the National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C. in 2012, where she sang in-front of President Obama. Experience the full majesty of Handel's masterpiece - one of the most revered oratorios of all time - when the Colorado Symphony and Chorus exalt Messiah skyward to soaring new heights. Colorado Symphony Chorus Director Duain Wolfe takes the podium to lead this soul-stirring holiday classic.
On Sunday, December 20, join us for the return of the Messiah Sing-Along! After over a decade, here is your chance to sing-along with the renowned Colorado Symphony Chorus for Handel’s glorious masterpiece and truly be a part of the holiday spirit. Come one, come all and join the orchestra and chorus for this specially priced Sunday concert starting at $25 for adults and $10 for children.

Celebrate the 25th anniversary of the holiday classic, Home Alone, with your Colorado Symphony! The concert event features renowned composer John Williams' charming and delightful score performed live as the film is screened on large suspended screens. Macaulay Culkin stars as Kevin McCallister, an eight-year-old boy who's accidentally left behind when his family leaves for Christmas vacation, and who must defend his home against two bungling thieves (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern). Hilarious and heartwarming, Home Alone is holiday fun for the entire family. Don't forget to arrive early for HalfNotes pre-concert activities in Gallery 2!
