R. STRAUSS Death and Transfiguration, Op. 24
MOZART Requiem, K. 626
Don't miss your internationally-praised Colorado Symphony Chorus and four renowned soloists as they breathe life into Mozart's immortal Requiem. Ironically, Mozart died before finishing his Requiem, and supposedly wrote instructions for completion on since-lost “little scraps of paper.” However mythical the conclusion of this masterpiece may be, its dramatic and captivating spirit endures. Strauss’ Death and Transfiguration—a tone poem depicting the death of an artist—complements the immortal Requiem in a program that proves the longevity of brilliance.
Stravinsky's The Firebird is proof that persistence yields reward. Also, featured on this weekend of concerts is Principal Trumpet Justin Bartels.
We're pleased to introduce LISTEN/HEAR, casual sessions of live performance threaded with thoughtful talk-throughs to help you understand and truly hear symphonic music.
