OPENING WEEK | SEP 5-8

The season kicks off with jazz legend Ahmad Jamal in Miner Auditorium, and rising star vocalist Veronica Swift in the Joe Henderson Lab.

Thursday night's concerts will also include complementary sparkling wine, drinks, bites from our favorite spots, a photo booth, and more as we celebrate the opening of our 8th season at SFJAZZ Center!

An NEA Jazz Master and a Kennedy Center Living Jazz Legend, pianist Ahmad Jamal has long been recognized as one of the most influential figures in jazz history, and makes a welcome return to SFJAZZ with his first appearances in the intimate setting of Miner Auditorium.

The buzz-worthy 25-year-old vocalist has set the jazz world on fire after her second-place finish at the 2015 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition. The rising star performs with pianist and composer Emmet Cohen's trio, which features some of the hottest young jazz players on the scene.
