PERFORMANCES

Bravi The Wizard of Oz & Gala Students

Congratulations to Colorado Ballet Academy students who helped make The Wizard of Oz a huge success! Over 60 students enchanted audiences as they danced with the professionals along the yellow brick road to Emerald City.

The Academy was invited to perform at Colorado Ballet’s annual gala, An Evening in Oz Gala on February 7 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House! Forty-two students from Levels 3 through Pre-Professional Division performed Carmen Suite as choreographed by Academy Director Erica Fischbach. The caliber of the students wowed over 600 guests as part of the evening’s festivities. This piece is slated to compete at the Youth American Grand Prix Regionals in Denver in hopes of passing to the finals in New York City. The ensemble was met with great joy and pride for Colorado Ballet Academy, inspiring additional support for Colorado Ballet.

Saturday Soirée

The Black Box Theater | February 23, 2019 at 4:00pm

The January Saturday Soirée featured two pieces that challenged Pre-Professional students to connect to dance in new ways. The Pre-Pro B class tackled Robert Sher-Machherndl's challenging style for the Soirée. The Pre-Pro A class worked hard to present a piece about communities coming together through tragedy and celebrating the peace that can arise from chaos. Brava to both classes for performing such lovely pieces for the audience!

The February Saturday Soirée will feature Colorado Ballet Academy's Student Choreography Project, facilitated by Academy Director Erica Fischbach and Academy Principal Domenico Luciano. As part of the Pre-Professional curriculum, all students were given the opportunity to explore the art of choreography. Five Pre-Professional students submitted their concept and sample choreography, and were chosen to present their work at the February Saturday Soirée. Students will participate in two pieces, either as a choreographer and a dancer, or as a dancer in both. This project has been met with extreme enthusiasm and students are excited by the opportunity to explore this creative outlet. Please come share in this special Saturday Soirée.

All-Academy Production of Giselle

Saturday, May 25, 2019 | 1:00pm & 6:00pm

All students enrolled in Levels 1 through Pre-Professional Division will be performing Giselle on May 25 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Colorado Ballet Academy is thrilled to be able to teach the art of ballet to students through this classical masterpiece and perform in Denver’s most treasured theater!
