South Asian Literature & Art Festival
South Asian Literature & Art Festival
This past Sunday, we hosted the South Bay's first ever South Asian Literature & Art Festival, and we are pleased to say it was a resounding success, with over 500 people in attendance!
Our presenting partner ArtForum SF displayed incredible vision and expertise in curating artists, panels, and presentations throughout the day. This was an important partnership for Montalvo as we continue to explore ways to deepen the engagement of our diverse community in both programs and place.
Did you miss the festival? Not to worry: we still have two conversations coming up: tonight (Friday, October 11 at 7:30pm), join us for a free conversation with Shelly Jyoti and Rahul Gajjar, moderated by Kalpana Desai. Then on Friday, October 18 at 7:30pm, don't miss Vikram Chandra and Anurag Kashyap in conversation with Tipu Purukayastha
Meanwhile, enjoy the photo album below of pictures from this past weekend.

Designing for Wellness with Dennis Boyle
Get Well Soon
It's your last chance to get well — with a fascinating presentation with IDEO co-founder Dennis Boyle: Designing for Wellness next Thursday, October 17 at 7:30pm.
Boyle will define “design thinking” and how it integrates the needs of people with the possibilities of technology and the requirements for business success. Emphasizing a human-centered perspective, he will also illustrate how designers think about, approach, and define problems.
As part of the evening, you’ll have a chance to participate in a design thinking exercise of your own by brainstorming on the topic of reducing loneliness across our lives. You'll come away with new insights on some of the ways that smart design solutions connect to our wellness and can improve our overall health.
