Experience the work of three International Commissioning Project choreographers while enjoying signature cocktails from the Harris Theater and tasty eats from Chicago’s best food trucks.

Long Story Short (Chicago Premiere), by 2014 International Commissioning Project choreographer Ihsan Rustem, for six dancers and set to music by AGF, Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto, Olafur Arnalds, and Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra. Costumes are by Chicago designer Abigail Glaum-Lathbury.

Changed in its Affection (Chicago Premiere), by 2014 International Commissioning Project choreographer Bryan Arias, for six dancers and set to music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Bob Dylan and Gustavo Santaolalla. Costumes are by Anke Loh in collaboration with Aubrie Meyer and the SAIC Post-Baccalaureate Fashion Class.

Parting Shadows  (World Premiere), a new quartet to music by Julia Kent from Chicago-based artist Victor Alexander, also a 2014 International Commissioning Project choreographer.

 Our 16th annual  International Commissioning Project  is now open to applications for 2015.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago is proud to support the development of innovative, international choreographers by commissioning new works.

IC Project choreographers receive the opportunity to create and premiere an original work for Hubbard Street 2. Since the inception of this program, formerly known as the National Choreographic Competition, more than 40 premieres have been created by diverse artists working within a broad spectrum of techniques and practices. Hubbard Street 2 is committed to ensuring that the International Commissioning Project  continues to support ascending dancemakers from across the United States and overseas.

Please submit your proposal using our online application form by January 9, 2015.
