CHICAGO (10/26/16) - Lyric Opera of Chicago will hold auditions for union singers and dancers for the 2016-17 season production of Lerner and Loewe’s My Fair Lady. Part of Lyric’s American Musical Theater Initiative, this new-to-Chicago production, originally directed by Robert Carsen, features an internationally acclaimed creative team, including Olivier Fredj as revival director, conductor David Chase, and choreography by Lynne Page.

Weekly rates for ensemble performers and solo dancers are subject to the collective bargaining agreement with The American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) and are set at $1,113.00/week in the 2016-17 Season. The rehearsal and performance period for My Fair Lady is Monday, April 3 through Sunday, May 21, 2017. There is a possibility of a short extension of the performance period.

Several ensemble members will also be cast in small, named roles as a result of these auditions; applicants in consideration for these must be prepared to demonstrate proficiency in both Cockney and Received Pronunciation (traditional British) accents.

All singers and dancers seen at these calls must belong to AGMA or Actors' Equity (Equity Membership Candidates (EMCs) will not be considered at the ensemble auditions).
