As part of this year's Alberta Culture Days, Edmonton Opera has organized four different events, Sept. 27 to 29. Join us for performances with family-friendly craft activities at Edmonton City Hall (Sept. 27, 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.), the Winspear Centre lobby (Sept. 28, with performances at 2:30 and 3 p.m.) and at the Enjoy Centre in St. Albert on Sept. 29 (performances at 2 and 2:30 p.m.).

Single tickets are now on sale for Salome, Edmonton Opera's first mainstage production of the 2013/14 season. Richard Strauss' psychological thriller begins our 50th anniversary year, with gorgeous orchestral music and a haunting story. Call the box office at 780.429.1000 to purchase tickets, purchase online or in person at the opera box office in Tix on the Square. Single tickets are also available for Die Fledermaus and Madama Butterfly, as well as full subscription packages starting at $96 for main floor seats.

The Viva Verdi gala concert at the Winspear Centre on Friday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. is the musical culmination of the Edmonton Verdi Festival, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the composer's birth. The program includes performances by the Edmonton Opera chorus, the Edmonton Youth Orchestra, the Vaughan String Quartet and the Appennini Folk Dancers, highlighting Verdi's extensive repertoire. Tickets are available through the Winspear Centre.
