Bedecked in their holiday finery, Smithsonian Gardens welcome participants as they learn about history, and gardening from Cindy Brown, a Smithsonian Gardens education specialist. Afterward, participants create botanical crafts to take home. The tour is also offered on Dec. 9 and Dec. 10.

Historian Ed Bearss leads a tour of some of the key sites in the War of 1812. Participants visit Ft. McHenry, Federal Hill, Hempstead Hill, and Fort Howard among other sites as they gain a better understanding of British movements and U.S.-British conflicts during the war.
