On Stage: Frisch's Big Boy Presents The Nutcracker

Academy Performance

Tuesday December 20

The Otto M. Budig Academy is proud to present A Journey into the Land of Sweets at the Cincinnati Ballet Center. Academy families are invited to join us as we celebrate the season with a performance of excerpts from The Nutcracker by our advanced level studentsPerformances are at 5:30 pm and 6:45 pm. Activities, crafts and light bites are included with your ticket purchase. Come join us for a family friendly holiday celebration!

Holiday Break

December 19 - January 2, No Classes

This week is the last week of classes before holiday break. Classes will run as scheduled through this Sunday, December 18. No classes will be held December 19 - January 2. All classes will resume as normally scheduled on Tuesday January 3, 2017. Enjoy the break!

Class Updates

Tuesday, December 13: Level 2A will be taught by Rosa Compostella, Level 1C will have a substitute instructor TBD, Level 5 & 6/7 will be combined for class following the Summer Intensive Chat. 

Wednesday, December 14: Level 3A, 4B & 4A will be combined for class from 4:15-6:15 PM with Zack Grubbs, Level 6 & 7 will be combined for class with Dawn Kelly, Conditioning classes will be combined at 6:15 PM, Petite Pas de Deux (David Morse) will be taught by Kara Louis. 

Thursday, December 15: Level 2B will be taught by Rosa Compostella, Level 3B & 4B will be combined for class from 6:15-8:15 PM with Sasha Hart (Level 4B will remain in class until 8:45 PM), Level 5 & 6/7 will be combined for class with Zack Grubbs. 

Saturday, December 17: Level 3A & 4A will be combined for class 12:15-2:15 PM with Sarah Hairston (Level 3A will still have pointe class 11:00-11:30 AM and Level 4A will remain in class until 2:30 PM). 

Sunday, December 18: Level 3B & 4B will be combined for class with Gema Diaz, Contemporary Broadway class is canceled.

Summer Training Chat

Tuesday December 13 - 6:15-7:15 PM

Level 3 - 7 students and parents/guardians are invited and strongly encouraged to attend a Summer Training Chat tomorrow, Tuesday December 13 in the Kaplan studio. 

Academy Director, Sarah Hairston along with Academy Principal Zack Grubbs and Assistant Academy Principal Dawn Kelly look forward to leading a discussion about what to expect from a summer dance training experience and what to look for when considering programs.

 

Spring Production

An email was sent to all Academy families with some exciting news and updates regarding our Spring Production! We are excited to elevate the performance experience for students and families by moving to the Matthews Auditorium & Performing Arts Center at Princeton High School.

Please note the new dates! Main Division: May 12, Children's Division: May 13

Make-up Classes

Make-up classes are available to any students who may have missed classes due to Nutcracker rehearsals and performances, illness, school commitments etc. Make-up classes are not required, but are a great way to keep up with class pace and get the most out of your tuition value. If interested, please call the Academy office to schedule a make-up class. 

Inclement Weather

In the event of severe weather or unexpected events requiring school closures, the Academy does its best to keep Academy families informed via the following: Website - www.cballet.org/academy, Facebook (be sure to "Like" Otto M. Budig Academy) and Television Stations - WCPO (Channel 9) and WKRC (Local 12)

First Class Free

Through December 18, the Academy invites new students ages 2 to 8 to try their first class free. If they enroll within a week of their free class, we’ll waive their registration fee.With only one week left to take advantage of this offer, we encourage interested students to call us to schedule a free class today! Registration for the current Academy Year will be closing in January. (Children's Division: January 15 & Main Division: January 29)
