Whether you have a couple of spare hours or plenty of extra time, the Edmonton Opera is always looking for volunteers to help with various projects, including administrative tasks, archives work or helping the community relations department. We are also always happy to have volunteers willing to help out during events, performing tasks such as front-of-house or working at the Will-Call table. For more information, please visit our website or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Join us on Sept. 30 for brunch at the Sutton Place Hotel. Artists starring in Aida will perform selections at the first brunch of the 2012/13 season, featuring Egyptian-themed food. Make sure to purchase your subscriptions soon, as we had great feedback after moving to the Sutton Place Hotel last year, and this event often sells out.
Egypt comes to Edmonton early in the form of the 1963 saga Cleopatra, the first in the EO Film Series for the 2012/13 season. Join us at Metro’s Garneau Theatre Sept. 26 at 7 p.m., as throughout the season, we’ll be presenting films that relate thematically to each of our mainstage operas. And then, with Egypt on the brain, party on the set of Aida during Storm the Stage on Oct. 20, with operatic performances, two live bands and a fashion show.
