Colorado Ballet Academy is excited to announce the dates for our upcoming mini-intensives to help dancers stay in top shape over the holiday break. Intensives are open to students in Levels 4 through Pre-Professional (or ages 11+ by placement). Students may sign-up for the full session or single days. December 17-19, 2018
Keep in shape for the holidays with three days of favorite classes! These concentrated classes are designed to help students maintain all they have accomplished this semester. Each day begins with Ballet Technique followed by Variations and finishing with Jazz to help you relax before diving into your final exams and holiday fun!
January 3-4, 2019
Start the New Year on a good foot, and get back in shape with our New Year's Resolution two-day intensive! These courses are designed to give students a leg up on their technique for the year. Classes will focus on placement, safe strengthening and stamina for a healthy start to the year.
Levels 5, 6, 7 combined from 4:30-6:30pm for technique in Studio 3 with Erica Sandre
Levels 3 A, B, D combined from 4:30-6:00pm in Studio 4 with Kathi Crum
Levels 2 B & D combined from 4:30-5:45pm in Studio 5 with Aria Faddis
All other classes are as usual.
Wednesday Creative Dance 2, Pre Ballet1 and Ballet 1 Students are permitted to take the same level class on a different day for the week of October 29-November 3. Please note students will not be permitted a makeup class after this window—the class will simply be forfeited. This only applies to students who regularly take class on Wednesdays.
Modified Schedule FAQ
Q: Do students have to come to the modified classes?
A: No, participation in these classes is optional and not attending will not hurt a student's attendance record or participation in performances
Q: Can students wear costumes?
A: Yes, but only on October 31—no other days during Halloween week! Students are welcome to wear costumes that they can move in, are dance class appropriate and do not have large face makeup designs.
Q: What if I don't have class on Wednesday?
A: This modified schedule will not effect you—all other classes are as usual.

PLEASE NOTE: Photo/video is not permitted during observation classes. Time will be reserved at the end of the each observation class to allow dancers to pose or do a combination that can be photographed or videoed by the parents.
Enter the enchanted world of Sleeping Beauty choreographed by Marius Petipa with music by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky and performed live by the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. This ballet will entertain and mesmerize, with dreamy fairies and a beautiful princess depicted through the artistry of Colorado Ballet's dancers.
Don't miss seeing some of our own students from levels 3-6 perform in the production as well as many of our Academy faculty including Francisco Estevez, Kevin Gael Thomas, Gregory Gonzales, Tracy Jones, Domenico Luciano, Fernanda Oliveira, Yosvani Ramos, Jeremy Studinski and Academy Director Erica Fischbach. Celebrations abound with joyous scenes from classic ballets. Levels 5, 6 & 7 will perform scenes from Giselle Act I with original and adapted choreography by Erica Fischbach. The Pre-Professional Division will perform a ballet scene from the opera Gioconda, choreography by Marius Petipa, adapted and set by Maria Mosina.
Due to the intimate size of the theater, tickets are limited to four total per family.

First Friday Art Walks are the signature event of Denver's Art District on Santa Fe. The District comes alive the first Friday of each month as thousands descend upon Santa Fe Drive year-round, rain or shine, for this free event.
As part of First Fridays, Colorado Ballet Academy will host free performances at Colorado Ballet's Black Box Theater at The Armstrong Center for Dance on the following dates:

CBA Dancers will perform

All students enrolled in Levels 1 through Pre-Profressional Division will be performing Giselle on May 25 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Colorado Ballet Academy is thrilled to be able to teach the art of ballet to students through this classical masterpiece and perform in Denver's most treasured theater.
