The Folger is canceling all public events through April 21, 2020. |  View in browser

Dear Folger Community and Friends:

The safety and health of our community are of utmost importance to us.

As many of you know, in preparation for our multi-year renovation, the Folger Shakespeare Library’s historic building on Capitol Hill is not open to the public. Our events and programs are happening at other locations and with partner institutions that have their own COVID-19 responses.

In consideration of the advice of the Center for Disease Control and DC Health regarding the containment of COVID-19, and consistent with actions taken by other cultural organizations, the Folger Shakespeare Library is canceling all public events through April 21, 2020. Certain events after April 21 have been rescheduled or postponed. For a detailed list of impacted programs, visit our website.

The Folger will post any updates to its operating status and plans on our website at www.folger.edu/covid19. We will email patrons with changes to any ticketed events and share updates on social media.

While visiting our website, please make note of future events and explore our online resources, including blogs, the Shakespeare Unlimited podcast, The Folger Shakespeare, and our digital collection. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Most of our staff will be working remotely from March 18–31 and are fully available by email to answer any questions and continue our work as always. We will be closed on March 16–17 to prepare.

On behalf of the Folger, we wish you good health and good spirits in this challenging and uncertain time. We are grateful for your trust and ongoing support and hope to see you soon.

Sincerely,

Michael Witmore
Director
