Bringing his highly successful concert tour to the Merriam Theater, singer-songwriter Bryan Adams provides a rare opportunity for fans to see him as they've not seen him before: solo-acoustic and intimate. The St. Louis Post Dispatch writes "Armed only with a small array of acoustic guitars, Adams packed enthusiastic fans — sometimes a bit too enthusiastic — into the intimate Sheldon for a great night of music and insight."

With hits like, "Cuts Like A Knife", "Summer of '69", "Kids Wanna Rock", "Can't Stop This Thing We've Started", "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You", "Open Road" and most recently "Thought I'd Seen Everything", Adams' status as one of the great songwriters of our time has been solidified.

"Hallelujah, our long national nightmare is over. Now we face a fiscal cliff. Sounds like an event from the X Games. Here's hoping both parties start talking to each other and stop talking to us." -Lewis Black

Grammy Award-winning stand-up comedian Lewis Black returns to the Academy of Music for one night only! The prolific comedian, actor, and writer came to fame as a guest on Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and has since become one of the hottest (and hot-headed!) performers working today. Following the long and arduous journey that was the presidential election, Black launches his "Running on Empty" tour. A brilliant actor, writer, and comedian — Black is known for his unfiltered and frank rants about the absurdity of politics and the world around us — and for having audiences rolling in the aisles!

*Bryan Adams and Lewis Black presales valid from 10am on November 13 to 10pm on November 15. Limit 8 tickets per show per patron.

Long-time activists and friends – poet Sonia Sanchez, musician Bernice Johnson Reagon, and folk/blues artist Toshi Reagon – perform on stage together for the first time. They will lead a stirring night of conversation, music and poetry. All three women have committed their lives to creating social change through art. What does it mean to be a female artist involved in social action? What lessons have our mothers passed down and what can our children teach? These questions and more will be pondered and pursued.
