The McIntire Department of Music and SPICMACAY will co-present a concert featuring internationally-acclaimed classical vocalist Kaushiki Chakrabarty, accompanied by Kedar Sudhir Naphade (harmonium) and Ojas Yogesh Adhiya (tabla). Kaushiki Chakraborty has been described by the BBC as “one of the brightest emerging artists in Indian vocal music.”
Free tickets will be available at the door starting at 6pm on 9/16.


Lecture-Demonstration on Hindustani Music

Monday, September 17 | 4-5:30pm | UVA International Center | Free

Kaushiki Chakraborty accompanied by Kedar Sudhir Naphade (harmonium) and Ojas Yogesh Adhiya (tabla) will hold a free workshop with students and faculty, on aesthetics and improvisation in Hindustani music. Sponsored by the McIntire Department of Music and SPICMACAY.


The TechnoSonics Festival returns for its 19th year, with the theme of Voices, spanning three days of concerts and colloquia. Featured guests include John and

Richard Will: Know the Score Pre-Concert Lecture

The Charlottesville Symphony is pleased to offer free Pre-Concert Lectures, led by the McIntire Department of Music Professor Richard Will, before all Saturday night Masterworks performances during the 2018-19 season. Pre-Concert Lectures are free and begin 45 minutes prior to Saturday night performances (7:15pm).
