Join Edmonton’s NextGen at the Grindstone for a FREE evening full of networking, speakers, story sharing and more! We are excited to host another networking event for new residents to Edmonton to connect other YEG newbies and hear from some stellar speakers.

We've partnered with SONiC 102.9 and SONiC Field Day on September 7 & 8 at Hawrelak Park for NextGen City Jam.
City Jam is about encouraging people to volunteer in our city and celebrate volunteerism in Edmonton. Volunteer and get your name on the guest list! Thanks to those who have volunteered and signed up!
How City Jam works:
1. Volunteer 10 hrs at an Edmonton charity or nonprofit starting May 1st, 2019 until September 4, 2019.
2. Once you have 10 volunteer hours, sign up here to get your name on the guest list to attend one of the days of Sonic Field Day!
You might even have an opportunity to meet & greet one of the bands - hint July Talk, Glorious Sons, Sam Roberts Band. Meet & greet spots are limited to 20 people!
3. We will contact your reference to confirm your volunteer hours. Once we receive confirmation, you'll receive an email from us that your name is on the guest list for one of the days at Sonic Field Day!
Guest list spots are limited so make sure you have your volunteer shift and hours lined up soon.

Timeraiser supports emerging Canadian artists and nonprofit organizations. In a nutshell, Timeraiser is a silent art auction where attendees bid volunteer time, not dollars, for original art.
In addition to supporting emerging artists, Timeraiser helps to foster and celebrate volunteerism nationally and in local communities.

Recover is hosting a series of four co-design workshops, each focused on different opportunity areas. The workshops will build off the starting points for action generated by research. Using social innovation, grounded in human-centred design the workshop will narrow down to a set of potential prototypes.

Canada C3 was a signature project for Canada's 150th Anniversary of Confederation in 2017. The epic 150-day sailing journey from Toronto to Victoria traversed the Northwest Passage exploring the environment, meeting coastal communities, and connecting Canadians from coast, to coast, to coast.
You're invited to this event and listen to a discussion on the voyage and how its focal themes of diversity and inclusion, reconciliation, youth engagement, and the environment connect to how we discuss Canada's natural and human histories.
The evening will also be the Alberta premier of the documentary capturing the C3 Expedition!

Volunteer Alberta is thrilled to announce their new youth engagement initiative: Youth @ the Table! Supported by Leaders Today, this project aims to engage young people ages 18 to 30 in Alberta’s nonprofit sector. Let's bring youth perspectives to our decision-making tables! 💪
Supported by Canada Service Corps, Youth @ the Table is a province-wide initiative seeking to engage youth ages 18-30 in shaping their communities.
Participants will spend at least six months from September 2019 until March 2020 collaborating with a nonprofit organization to explore and impact a social issue they care about. Volunteer Alberta will match youth participants with a nonprofit where they will be engaged at the governance level on a board, committee, or council.
Applications for nonprofit organizations are open now until May 30. Stay tuned for youth applications!
Apathy is Boring is a national, youth-led organization that works to empower and support young people to get involved in their communities and cities.
Their RISE program is designed for young people with little or no previous experience in volunteering. Over the course of 20 weeks, the RISE Ambassadors will build skills and collaborate with others to build a community project in their city.
The RISE program will run for 20 weeks from August 5th, 2019 to December 15th, 2019. Youth ambassadors have to commit 6 hours a week. There is also a mandatory 4 day retreat to attend between September 5th and September 8th, 2019. All expenses are paid.
Ambassadors from across Canada will come together in Quebec to meet each other, build skills and get inspiration for their projects.

You will have the opportunity to explore the home and all the features that make it accessible. The aim is to bring together city officials, builders, and citizens to explore what currently exists in accessible housing and to imagine how some of these features could be incorporated into standard building practice.

This unique annual festival provides an experiential public education platform that celebrates energy literacy, sustainability, and clean-technologies.
There will be a full-scale green powered midway, local healthy food trucks, community vendors and of course lots of free educational eco-related activities for all ages!
Sustainival is an ungated event with no admission charge over the 4 days. Attendees who want to go engage beyond the free components are welcome to ride the green midway by purchasing tickets in advance.
EALT is a non- profit organisation dedicated to conserving local and regional natural areas. Such areas support a range of values, including: health, child & family development, economic, cultural, scenic, and environmental.
In the last 10 years, EALT has secured and stewards 12 conservation lands in Edmonton and 8 surrounding municipalities.
EALT welcomes applications no later than Friday, June 14, 2019.
The first EALT Board meeting to which successful candidates will be invited will be on Tuesday 16th July, the AGM, and candidates will be informed before the end of June.
