Salome — two performances remain!

Oct. 28, 2013

"The first thing to say about Edmonton Opera’s production of Salome ... is that it is so compelling, so thought-provoking, and of such quality that it could happily be transferred to any of the world’s greatest opera houses. It is the first opera production I have seen in Alberta about which that could be said with such conviction."
- Mark Morris, Edmonton Journal

There are two more chances to see Salome, Edmonton Opera's season opening production! Join us on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 7:30 p.m. or make it a Halloween date night on Thursday, Oct. 31, at 7:30 p.m. Call the box office at 780.429.1000 or purchase your tickets online; tickets are selling quickly!

This is the second time Maida Hundeling has graced the stage in Edmonton; in Fidelio  in April 2012 and now in the title role of Salome. Hundeling and Jan Vacik, who sings the role of Salome's creepy stepfather, were supported by a strong cast, Mark Morris wrote in his Journal review, a production that "(director Waut) Koeken and (maestro David) Stern promised they would 'blow the dust' off this opera, and they did."
